In 2006 I read over 200 books - lost count but I think the final tally was 207 - up considerably from last year's 137. This was partly because I read quite a lot of shorter books, but also I think I did more travelling where it was easy to keep reading. Anne asks where my review of Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go is. I haven't yet read the book, so haven't written a review yet - though I did get it for Christmas and have firmly resolved to try and read it this year!

Was it Borges who wrote about meeting his younger self, and finding that they didn't get on very well?

Have promised my friend in Berlin 1600 words on EU enlargement fatigue, and coalescent the same or more on Zoran Živković, by end of week.
